The Absolute Worst Part Of Being In A Long Distance Relationships Is When It's Time To Say Goodbye... Here's Some Tips On How To Make Saying Goodbye Easier.

The hardest part of a long distance relationship is having to say goodbye.

This speaks for itself… If you’re reading this blog, then I’m sure you’re aware that it’s hard to prepare with saying goodbye to your long distance boyfriend / girlfriend. For some people, including myself, it never gets easier.

You go from spending a ton of time with the love of your life, to sometimes not even knowing when you’re going to see them again. How exactly are you supposed to prepare for something like that? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve cried when leaving my partner. It’s important that you connect with how you feel! It’s okay to cry, it’s okay to feel mad, and of course, sad. Long distance relationships come with a rollercoaster of emotions, but they’re so incredibly worth it.

So, if you’re going to be saying goodbye to your partner soon, then…

Here are some tips on how to make saying goodbye easier.

1. Plan when you’re going to see each other next

What makes saying goodbye to your partner harder is not knowing when your going to see each other next. This step is much easier said than done, but try and figure out the next time you will see each other. This way, you can start a countdown, and when it’s time to say goodbye, at least you know when you will see your girlfriend / boyfriend next! It will help you to feel more at ease and it gives you something to feel happy and get excited about!

2. Make plans for yourself

The worst possible thing you can do is sit down and think about how upset you’ll be when saying goodbye. So, to help yourself deal with the goodbyes, make some plans for yourself! Whether you plan to hang out with your friends later that week, go to the movies, or visit your family, just plan something that will keep you occupied. Whatever will keep you busy, do it! When you’re actively doing something, you won’t have time to think about how upset you are. You’ll be distracted by other things that make you happy.

3. Don’t hide your emotions

Okay, this might sound a little silly, but don’t be afraid to cry! Even if you’re not an emotional person, just let it all out! Letting out your emotions helps to relieve you of your sadness. Trust me, take it from someone who cries over everything, LOL! Bottling up your emotions is one of the worst things you can do. Eventually, your feelings will catch up with you and it’ll be a disaster. Even if you’re at the airport saying goodbye, don’t be afraid to cry in public. It will show your partner that you care immensely! So, get in touch with your inner feelings… It’s okay not to be okay.

4. Have a special date

The night before you leave, do something special with your partner. Think about what you both love to do together. For example, go to your favorite restaurant together, cuddle up in bed watching your favorite movie, or even go for a little road trip. Whatever you both love to do, do it one last time before you say goodbye. Plus, you’ll have a new romantic memory to think about afterwards.

Something that I personally think is super special is setting up a little paint night! Whether you paint something together, or paint a picture of each other, it’s an adorable way to spend time together and it’s fun!

5. STAY CONNECTED

If this is going to be your first goodbye with your partner, then it’s important for you both to discuss to how you will stay connected when they leave. If your partner is the one heading home, they should send you their flight details, keep you updated with boarding, landing, and when they arrive home. This will help to ease your worries, you stay connected, and it’s another excuse to talk to the love of your life!

6. THINK POSITIVELY

I cannot stress this enough… THINK POSITIVELY!! A lot of people get worried when it comes to their partner leaving… They’re unsure when they’ll see them next, and might wonder if they’ll even see each other again. It’s a scary thing saying goodbye, but just remember, it’s really just a ‘see you later’. It’s not going to be the last time you see them. Yes, it may be a while till you see them again, but if you stay positive, your thoughts can’t upset you. When you think negatively, you feel negative, so stay positive.

THOSE WERE SOME TIPS ON HOW TO MAKE SAYING GOODBYE EASIER!

Hopefully the tips mentioned can help you feel better for when that time comes. Just remember, as long as you and your partner put in the time and effort while you’re apart, you’re bound to see each other again soon.
